EMI TO NATIONALLY RELEASE LACHI'S SELF-TITLED
ALBUM JULY 27 '10
New York City-based piano-driven, alternative-rock
band lead by singer-songwriter Lachi has
garnered widespread attention, performing
throughout the Northeast. On July 27 2010
EMI will nationally release Lachi's debut
self-titled album, which captures the West
African-born songstress’s knack for
blending hauntingly honest and personal lyrics
with breezy, appealing melodies. On July
22, Lachi will hold a release party at the
renowned NYC venue, Joe's Pub.
Legally blind and supported by blind band
members, Lachi’s sociopolitical and
poignant lyrics are often inspired by the
stigmas of her visual impairment. Radio Indy
says her vocal and lyrical depth "captures
what was once a great time for music.”
With performances deemed "consistently
good" by Computer Music Magazine, "gorgeous"
and "catchy" by CMJ, and "standout"
by NYU's Washington Square News, Lachi
brings the art back into songwriting and
the vigor into performing. Through their
